The Blue Willow BlueBand, Team BC’s most recent wearable product, is a location and health monitor for patients in elderly care facilities.

Combined with the BlueHub access points, this cloud-connected end-to-end resident safety solution can detect falls in real time.

Previous work in wearable and enclosure design made the BC design team an obvious choice for designing the Blue Willow mechanical infrastructure from the ground up. The BC design team brought both the BlueBand and the BlueHub from concept through design and into production.

• Complete mechanical design of the BlueBand and BlueHub

• Completely enclosed electric module with battery
• Over-molded electrical and temperature probe pass throughs
• Designed to IP54 (splash proof)
• Gore-Tex patch and silicone button design
• Design for silicone molding with inserts and large undercuts
• Completed several rounds of prototyping including 3D prints
